We are campaigning against the Tees Valley Energy Recovery Facility proposed by 7 local authorities: Darlington, Durham, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Newcastle, Stockton and Redcar & Cleveland
If the incinerator is built, it will cost over £300 million and will burn over 450,000 tonnes of ‘waste’ per year at a proposed site near Grangetown in the borough of Redcar & Cleveland. This would lead to more traffic delivering ‘waste’ to the incinerator, more pollution, more noise, more CO2, and decreased rates of recycling in the local area. Our councils should be making things better for local communities, not worse!
